Our city has two names !

HYDERABAD is the Capital City of the State of Andhra Pradesh in India. The names: HYDERABAD and SECUNDERABAD are used interchangeably because they are "twin cities" which mutually flank each other. HYDERABAD / SECUNDERABAD is located at 17.39 deg. N latitude and 78.47 deg. E longitude, almost in the middle of India. We are at an altitude of about 400 metres above mean sea level.

HYDERABAD / SECUNDERABAD is connected by air / rail to: DELHI (1500 km) BOMBAY / MUMBAI (710 km) MADRAS / CHENNAI (674 km) CALCUTTA / KOLKATTA (1800 km) PUNE (545 km) BANGALORE (573 km)	Our nearest airport is: HYDERABAD, which is well connected to all major cities of India. A few international flights also touch Hyderabad directly. Our nearest railhead is: SECUNDERABAD, which is well connected to all major cities of India. Our city is easily accessible by road since it lies at the intersection of two major national highways: NH 7 (Nizamabad Road, Medchal Road) and NH 9 (Pune Road, Balanagar Road). NH 7 (Nizamabad roads, Medchal road) and NH 9 (Pune Road) are marked on this large map. The thick red straight line is the runway of the airport.

In view of its central location, HYDERABAD / SECUNDERABAD is considered to be the gateway to South India, or to North India, depending on which way you look at it. This 400 year old metropolis offers many things to many people. It is rich in art, culture and handicrafts. The city is famous for its pearls markets.

The city is known for its friendly people. In fact, we locals call our city HY"DEAR"ABAD !

This city, is also the seat of many reputed R & D Centres and institutions of higher learning. The city is so active in the field of Information Technology, that it has come to be known as Cyberabad.
