Parthasarathy, Prema, Parishram, Prayathna (The family of four-Ps) (Fine print: This is not a home page. It is a boast page!)

"Parthasarathy" is an enigma, they say. In Hindu mythology, this name is associated with images of a humble driver (sarathy), a dutiful warrior (partha), and the greatest teacher of all times (Parthasarathy). And so, "Parthasarathy" combines humility, determination, and wisdom. Our Partha, was born in Triplicane, Madras (now called Chennai), India. He is named after the presiding deity of Triplicane: "Parthasarathy". The serene "Marina beach" facing the Bay of Bengal, stands as a sentinel to Triplicane. Triplicane, the seat of wisdom and culture, hosts (amongst many other landmarks): the University of Madras, the Presidency College, Hindu High School, numerous centres of music and drama, and of course, the 1200 year old temple dedicated to the lord Parthasarathy.   Click here and take a tour of the temples of India.   Read on, to know more.

Calling names...Partha style...

All the names in Partha family start with a P : Partha, Prema, Parishram, and Prayathna, which makes them a 4*P family !
 
And each name denotes some very fine values in life:

1. His wife: Prema (Love -- "anbu" in Tamil ). Married 1980.
2. His son: Parishram (Labour -- "uzhaippu" in Tamil )
3. His daughter: Prayathna (Endeavour -- "muyarchi" in Tamil )

 
Thus, Partha (the humble driver, the dutiful warrior, and the wise teacher) is surrounded by love, labour and endeavour.


What a formidable combination !

Not only do their names all start with the letter "P", they also follow an interesting pattern:

1. Parthasarathy is a 13 letter word, add Prema (5 letters), gives exactly the sum of the letters in the children's names (9+9).
2. The number of vowels in the parents' names match the number of vowels in the children's names. In fact, there are exactly the same number of "a"s in the parents' names and the children's names.
3. By extension, the number of consonants in the parents' names matches those in the children's names
4. The men have names starting with "PA". Both ladies start their names with "PR"
5. The men end their names with a consonant. Both ladies end their names with a vowel.
6. The parents (Partha and Prema) are "scorpios", the children (Parishram and Prayathna) are "leos".
